The Dushanbe International School believes that: • Every student has an individual and a cultural set of experiences, skills and interests which must be considered in the teaching process. • A diverse student body enriches the school community and provides a wealth of experience and resources. • A thorough education includes the development of the qualities of compassion, tolerance, respect for the rights of all people, and the skills for peaceful resolution of conflict. • The school should develop an atmosphere of academic excellence and encourage inquiring and critical thinking. • Students should strive for excellence in the physical, expressive and creative arts. • The school is a community, and social awareness, thoughtful interaction and effective communication are fundamental to its well-being. • Education is most effective when students, parents and the school co-operate. • Pupils best learn through applied subjects which are taken from real life. • Each pupil should be treated as an individual and individual differences should be taken into consideration in the educational process. • Teaching "how and why" is more important than "what", because fostering thinking and self-learning ability in our pupils is vital. • Pupils in an educational school are lucky because they acquire a universal understanding of diverse cultures and religions. |
